At Home Pampering

What gal doesn't love a spa day? Or at least some relaxation!? Big hands up from this gal on all accounts! Usually on Sundays when Taylor and Grady are taking their Sunday afternoon nap, I will make this my "me time!" I go full out and it is one of my favorite times of the week! For me to explain the whole process, it would be quite lengthy and probably not something everyone is interested in. So instead of going through the whole process, I'm just going to give you a little snippet of why I use these products and how they help me!

I use the No. 0 Intensive Bond Building Treatment, the No. 3 Hair Perfector, and the No. 6 Bond Builder as they read on the bottle. What I, ideally, like to make happen on Sundays, is use my No. 0 and No. 3, wash my hair really well, do a blow out on it, put the No. 6 in it, then throw some curls in it. I don't have to touch up or wash my hair for about four days if I do that. I use a little dry shampoo in there but overall, doing that on Sundays really makes me feel like I've got my hair done for a couple days, at least! Something I'd also like to add is besides my hair feeling super soft and being done and not having to mess with it for a couple days, when I was super strict about doing this every Sunday, it helped my hair SO MUCH. I'm in the process of going from black box dye to something not black box dye (its a work in progress, not sure the end goal, but we will get there!) and my hairdresser has been so impressed on how my hair is handleing the whole process! It continues to grow even though we're bleaching it fairly often! Also, yes, there has been some controversey over Olaplex in the last month or so. Bottom line is, they took care of the controversey and they have a great product line. I am not a fan of cancel culture so I'm going to keep using my Olaplex but you do you, boo.

If you're a female who wears makeup, I highly suggest using a facial razor every so often to get rid of the peach fuzz and dead skin on your face! It helps when I apply even my moisturizer but also makes my makeup look so good! I have used the cheaper razors, I've used more expensive razors and I don't see much of a difference...no one else is probably going to tell you that! Just try it once and you'll be hooked!! I try to this right after I do my face mask and it makes it that much better!

Face Lift in a Bag/Firming Eye Gels: https://shopstyle.it/l/bEqBH

This product is called Face Lift in a Bag, I did not make that up! Really, the only thing you really need to try is the firming eye gels! They are my absolute favorite under eye gels to purchase! I used to just get whatever is cheapest but I like to splurge on these! The Face Lift in a Bag kit is super fun for specific "spa nights" you may have or just an extra special treat!

Taylor and I are known to do a nose strip any day of the week. We love them. What's even better is if you are at Target or Walmart and they have a store brand, they are just as good! We don't dicriminate against nose strip brands, they all get the job done!! Make sure you follow the directions on the box exactly for best results! Also, we have found that if you take a little bit of baking soda and water, create a paste, and use that to exfoliate your nose area, the strips tend to work even better! We looked it up on YouTube one time because we wanted to see if we could get even more out of our pores - it seemed to do the trick!

Glam Glow Gravity Mud is what I've linked becuase I love a good, peel off mask. If you prefer a sheet mask, grab one of those! We all have our preferences and I use this one after I've done my Face Lift in a Bag and my nose strips!

Gel Exfoliator: https://bit.ly/3v9YTEf

I purchased this exfloiator a while back and I have to say it is a really great exfoliator. It's a little pricey, but it lasts forever and you can use it on your face and body! It is also a little finakey. If you se too much, it doesn't do its job hardly at all, I'll be honest! If you use just the right amount (which is significantly less than you'd expect) it's amazing! I'm open to suggestions if anyone has anything better! haha!

Since I started shaving (a long time ago now! lol) I have used the same razors. Maybe not the same brand, but I stick to a 5 blade disposible razor. If I'm at Target, I'll grab those. If I'm at Walmart, I grab their brand. If I'm at a place where they only have Venus (name brand) I grab those. I'm not picky, but if it isn't broke, don't fix it. That's why I stick to my tride and true!

Once again, if it isn't broke don't try and fix it with my body scrubs. The Tree Hut brand has tons of scents, specilaty scents around holidays and their product is just dang good. If you're in the market for a great body scrub, head to Ulta (or Target, I believe they have some available there too!) and grab yourself a tub of this! The tub lasts quite a while even for someone who uses a pretty large amount AND they're only aronud $10! Use with the exfoliating gloves linked below and you'll have baby soft skin!

Exfoliating Gloves: https://shopstyle.it/l/bEqG0

I'm keeping all these together as not to confuse people. I think the best way for a gal to add a little bit of confidence almost instantly is by adding a touch of self tanner. Tanning beds are not good for your skin, nor is the actual sun so this summer, use your SPF and this tanner to get you that tan you're wanting! This tanner is the express tanner, you can rinse it off in as little as one hour! There are tons of brand that make express self tanner and you can pay outrageous amounts of money for them, but I'm telling you...the Ulta brand is the way to go! I've gotten multiple people hooked on it! This tanner is the best price point, super easy to apply, and lasts fairly long if you follow a good regime like the one below.

  • Step 1: Norvel PREP Spray (Spray evenly, let dry.)

  • Step 2: Self Tan (Use a mitt and rub it in more than you think you need to. I bought a cheap makeup brush to use for my feet and hands!)

  • Step 3: Norvel POST Spray (Spray evenly, let dry.)

Now the exfoliating gloves come in handy after a few days when you're ready to start fresh with a new tan. I have tried the tan remover and I just don't feel it's as good as using the exfoliating gloves with a bit of body scrub. Sometimes I do that process and let my skin rest a couple of days between, but really, this tanner fades great as long as it goes on evenly! I don't suggest using a tanner for the first time right before an event or a night out or anything, try it a week or two before to get a feel for it! Then, get that tan off and do it for when you really want it. For me, I like to use it year round and I'll use it on Sunday during my "me time" and by the next Sunday when I go to shave and exfoliate using my body scrub, its all gone anyway and I have fresh skin to apply it on again!
